As the NBA finals heat up, the New York Knicks could make it three wins on the spin against the San Antonio Spurs in Game three as they return to Madison Square Garden this week.
The Knicks have given an impressive account of themselves in this year’s edition of the showpiece as they compete in the final for the first time in 27 years.
Now sitting on a 2-0 series lead, the Knicks managed to see out a narrow 105-104 win against the San Antonio outfit in Game two at the Frost Bank Center last Saturday.
In what was a largely physically demanding encounter, the Knicks were in their element as they swarmed to 11 steals compared to just seven by the Spurs. In another telling stat, the Knicks recorded 19 fast break points, while SAS could only manage 11.
However, the Knicks' three-point proficiency ultimately moved the needle in their favour as they completed 15 from 38 attempted, compared to only 11 from 29 by the Spurs.

Karl-Anthony Towns proved to be one of the Knicks' best players on the day, scoring 21 points from 34 minutes.
Adding to the Knicks' attacking thrust, Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges scored 20 points each, while OG Anunoby completed the game on 17 points as he likewise made life difficult for the Spurs.
