Enea Bastianini will be keen to record his fourth win of the current campaign when he competes in the German Grand Prix on June 19.

The Ducati rider was nowhere near the podium places in last year's German MotoGP as he finished 16th having started 18th on the grid.

Bastianini endured a disheartening race in the most recent race this term which was the Catalan MotoGP on June 5 being forced to retire.

The Italian rider failed to score points after falling at Turn 3 in Spain which left him further and further away from race winner Fabio Quartararo as the leader of the 2022 riders' standings.

Ducati rider Jorge Martin finished second in Catalan, while his teammate Johann Zarco secured the third spot in what was the ninth race of the season.

Looking at the riders' standings, Quartararo remains at the top of the table and he is followed closely by Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia as the race for the 2022 MotoGP world title continues.

The 24-year-old Bastianini, who is currently placed third on the standings, will maintain his spot in the top three spots if he wins the German MotoGP.

"I didn't do anything strange. I entered the corner like before, but unfortunately, the front tire lost grip and didn't work the way I wanted," Bastianini said after the Catalan MotoGP.

"I wanted to have a proper race, without exaggerating, but we didn't make it. Right now, I have no explanation. Remembering that time I had a good race and we did everything well.

"We were there [in the race], and keeping sixth or seventh positions was important. My goal was to be in the top 10, I was on the right track. But then things went differently."

Ducati are placed at the top of the Constructors' championship standings and they are followed by Yamaha and Aprilia respectively.
