The Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets will meet for Game 6 in their
NBA Playoffs, Western Conference First Round tie, set for the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon on Friday 4 June 2021.
The teams put on a brilliant basketball display in Game 5 of their series on Wednesday morning, with Damian Lillard scoring 55 points for Portland but still ending up on the losing side in an overtime 147-140 victory for Denver. The result sees the Nuggets 3-2 up in the series and looking to seal progression on enemy soil come Friday.
"It was the best playoff performance I've ever seen," Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts said of Lillard’s showing.

"At this point, all that matters is we can't lose another game in the series," Lillard himself added. "If I don't put it behind me, and hold onto it, it's going to get in the way of what we need to do in the next one.”
As for Denver, their resilience in the battle against Portland bodes well for Game 6, though they will need to assume that their opponents will be just as determined as they are.
"We won and lost that game so many times before ultimately winning it," Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. "We never got down. Every time they threw a haymaker and got us down on the canvas, we got up and were able to pull it out in the end."
In head-to-head stats, the Trail Blazers and the Nuggets have met in 22 Playoff games since 1976-77, with both Portland and Denver winning 11 times. The teams’ last Playoff series prior to 2020-21 was in 2018-19, with the Trail Blazers winning 4-3.
The winner of this Playoff series will advance to face the Phoenix Suns or Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference semifinals later this month.
