The Iowa-born golfer won his first major title at the Masters Tournament in Augusta by a margin of two strokes over Tiger Woods, Retief Goosen, and Rory Sabbatini in 2007.

Johnson's score of 289 (+1) tied Sam Snead (1954) and Jack Burke Jr. (1956) for the highest winning score at the Masters.

In July 2015, Johnson beat Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman in a 4-hole playoff to win the Open Championship at St Andrews in England for his 12th PGA Tour win and second major.

It remains his last win on the PGA Tour and he will be desperate to end his trophy drought by winning the Travelers Championship.

“My game is coming along nicely. It is always a work in progress and I try to never get complacent," Johnson said.

"I like the direction of every aspect and my team of coaches have encouraged and challenged me to stay the course. Keeping it simple has been the key. We always try to keep putting simple.

"I have a few technique drills I implement every day, quite a few speed drills, reading drills and then games on the practice green that seem to transfer to the course.”
