The 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix returns to the tight and twisty Hungaroring near Budapest this weekend, as round 11 of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship.
What to know about the Hungarian Grand Prix
The Hungaroring remains one of Formula 1’s most demanding and tactical circuits on the Grand Prix calendar; the race was established in 1986.
It is famous for its low-speed corners, overtaking difficulties, and hot summer conditions that will truly test drivers and teams to the limit.

Kimi Antonelli took victory for Mercedes in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps on 19 July which was round 10 of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship.
Charles Leclerc finished second for Ferrari, with Max Verstappen completing the podium in third for Red Bull.
Standings
Kimi Antonelli leads the Drivers’ Championship with 204 points, while Lewis Hamilton sits second on 159 points, George Russell is third on 154 points, and Charles Leclerc is fourth with 126 points.
Mercedes head the Constructors’ Championship ahead of Ferrari and McLaren.

All eyes will be on the title contenders at the Hungaroring this weekend: Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, Kimi Antonelli, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen.
Mercedes and Ferrari arrive with strong momentum, while McLaren and Red Bull will hunt for upgrades on the twisty Hungarian circuit where tyre management and strategy could play a decisive role.

“It was actually one of the easiest weekends we've had," Verstappen said after his third-place finish at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix.
"Everything was quite straight forward, the car was straight away in a decent window. In that respect, it was quite a normal weekend, which is a positive. I tried everything I could during the race.
"In the end, we're on the podium, so we can't complain too much. To be on the podium here is a very good result for us. I gave everything I had, and P3 is a good result.”
