With the SA20 playoff spots set in stone, all eyes will be on Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Pretoria Capitals, Paarl Royals and Joburg Super Kings this week with the Betway SA20 trophy up for grabs.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape moved to the top of SA20 pile this past weekend following a seven-wicket victory over MI Cape Town at the popular St. Goerge’s Oval in Gqeberha on Sunday.
SEC were inspired by Matthew Breetzke and Quinton de Kock at the crease, who noted 66 and 56 runs apiece after MI Cape Town put 148 on the scoreboard over 20 overs. The result saw SEC avoid the eliminator play-off and progressed directly to the qualifier game.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape will now take on second-placed Pretoria Capitals in the first qualifier playoff tie at Kingsmead on Wednesday while the winner will advance to the final which is set to take place at Newlands on Sunday.

Elsewhere, the Joburg Super Kings completed the SA20 playoffs list following their 45-run win against Paarl Royals at Boland Park on Monday evening. In what was a must-win encounter for JSK in their final round-robin assignment, Leus du Plooy held his own with 54 runs from 27 balls to guide his side to victory.
After finishing third and fourth respectively, the Royals and JSK will once again do battle in the eliminator fixture at Centurion on Thursday, with the winning team facing the loser of the first playoff qualifier in the second playoff qualifier at the Wanderers on Friday.
