Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings will be challenging Pretoria Capitals for top spot when they meet at St George's Park on Wednesday, January 14.
Sunrisers trail the Capitals - who have played one game more - by just one point in second place, while the Super Kings are a further two points back in third spot.
Adrian Birrell's side have fallen foul of the weather in the new year, with their clash against Johannesburg franchise at the Wanderers ending in a no result due to rain and their match with Durban's Super Giants at Kingsmead being abandoned.
The Gqeberha outfit lost to the Super Giants by two wickets most recently on January 11 as the game went down to the last over.
Sunrisers batted first and posted 158/5 in 20 overs, with Tristan Stubbs hitting an unbeaten 47. The hosts responded with 162/8 as they reached the target with three balls to spare.

The Super Kings are looking to bounce back from their defeat to MI Cape Town on January 10, having also seen another game being rain-affected against Paarl Royals this month which was a no result as well.
Stephen Fleming's side had to chase a sizeable target of 235 to win after Ryan Rickelton top-scored for the visitors with 113 not out. Daniel Worrall was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/37 from his four overs.
Super Kings were well short in the end as they could only muster 198/5, although Dian Forrester showed some fight with an unbeaten 80 off 42 balls.

Stubbs was voted Player of the Match for his century, but was disappointed to lose at home for the second time this season and wants to repay the crowd for their support when the Super Kings arrive in Gqeberha.
"The second innings ebbed and flowed. They got away from us at the start, and we couldn't rein them back in. It was one of those St George's days where the powerplay is crazy, then it slows down, and you can get going again at the end," the Sunrisers captain said.
"Unfortunately, we couldn't get over the line. We have two more home games; we haven't done that well at home this season, and we owe this crowd a good performance.
"We've lost two games now, and both have gone into the last over. That's a sign that even when we aren't playing our best, we are still taking games deep; we aren't getting blown out of the water.
"Those are the positives we can take. There was a lot of good today, but unfortunately, we just couldn't get over the line."
