Senegal will be aiming to reach their third final in four Africa Cup of Nations appearances when they lock horns with Egypt at the Tangier Grand Stadium in the semi-finals on Wednesday, January 14.
The Lions of Teranga were losing finalists in the 2019 edition and they would go one step further two years later by being crowned African champions for the first time.
The title holders made a disappointing exit from the 2023 tournament at the round of 16, but have shown they mean business in Morocco after making an unbeaten run to the penultimate stage.

Pape Thiaw's side won four of their opening five matches, scoring 11 goals and conceding just twice - a 1-1 draw with DR Congo in the group stages and a 3-1 victory over Sudan in the first knockout round.
The West Africans edged Mali 1-0 in the quarter-finals on January 9 - their third clean sheet at AFCON 2025 after previously beating Botswana 3-0 and Benin 3-0 in Group D.
Senegal have faced the Pharaohs five times on Africa's biggest stage, winning three of those match-ups and losing twice. Their last meeting came in the AFCON 2021 final which saw the Lions of Teranga emerge victorious on penalties (4-2) after a 0-0 draw (AET).

Thiaw believes his team should have scored more than just the one goal against the Eagles in the last eight and will look to address their lack of cutting edge in front of goal for the clash with Egypt.
"It was not an easy match because we played against a very talented Mali team but we achieved our objective," he said in the post-match press conference.
"The Mali team has good qualities and they created many challenges for us. If we had been more clinical in front of goal we could have scored more goals but what is more important today is for us to have qualified for the semi-final.
"We will look into our errors and look to correct them for our future matches. We hope that we will be more efficient in front of goal and have more luck in future."
