The Toronto Raptors will be on the hunt for an NBA Regular Season victory when they take on the Detroit Pistons at the Little Caesars Arena in Michigan on the morning of Saturday 15 January 2022. Tip-off is at 02:00.
The Raptors find themselves in the upper mid-table in the Eastern Conference as they look to push for a place in the Playoffs. This past weekend they underlined their potential with an impressive 122-108 home win over a short-handed Utah Jazz.

"That was an incredible one, all the way through the quarter," Raptors head coach Nick Nurse said, while Fred VanVleet, who scored 37 points added: “I really thought it was the defence, to be honest with you, just picking up full court and trying to generate some aggressiveness.”
The Pistons, by contrast, have endured a miserable season and find themselves scrapping with the Orlando Magic to avoid the ‘wooden spoon’ across both Conferences. Detroit were handed a 118-88 thrashing by the Memphis Grizzlies this past weekend.

"Our fuel meter was down. Our energy was down from top to bottom. Guys coming off the bench; guys starting," coach Dwayne Casey said, later adding: "It really showed in our shooting. Everything was short, Again, we've got to be a team that faces adversity… Understanding that every night you come out, you're going to have a gunslinging."
In head-to-head stats, the Pistons and the Raptors have met in 96 Regular Season games since 1995-96, with Detroit claiming 58 wins compared to 38 for Toronto. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in November 2021, with the Pistons winning 127-121 away thanks to 24 points from Jerami Grant.
