Max Homa will be hoping to become the 18th golfer to win the
Genesis Invitational more than once when he tees off at the Riviera Country Club.
What to know about Homa
The American star won this tournament in 2021 as he parred the second playoff hole to defeat his compatriot Tony Finau.
Homa clinched the individual 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship and as a professional he has won six times on the PGA Tour so far.
The former University of California, Berkeley student is among the top golfers in the world and he is currently placed 12th on Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).

Homa is coming into this year's Genesis Invitational having finished 39th at the 2023 WM Phoenix Open at the TPC Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.
Prior to that, the two-time Wells Fargo Championship winner had taken part in the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, California in January 2023.
Homa clinched the Farmers Insurance Open after he came from behind with a final round six-under par 66 to win by two shots over Keegan Bradley.

The Carlifonia-born golfer knows what it takes to win the Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club having clinched the title two years ago.
Furthermore, Homa tends to perform well in tournaments played in his home state having won the recent Farmers Insurance Open and Genesis Invitational in California.

"It's a ton of patience and a lot of confidence," Homa said of his ability to come from behind at the Farmers Insurance Open last month.
“Obviously there’s a ton of great players. That board was stacked,” Homa said. “But I just had to know that it’s obviously a hard golf course.
"I just have to keep hitting good shots and keep hitting good putts. And you’re going to make bogeys. You’re going to make birdies. Winning takes a lot of luck, but it just takes a lot of patience.”
