Johannes Veerman is back to defend his title at the 2025
Nedbank Golf Challenge as he looks to cap off the year with his first victory on the DP World Tour.
The American won the tournament in Sun City last year when he carded a 5-under 283 to beat Matthew Jordan, Romain Langasque and Aldrich Potgieter by one stroke.
It was Veerman's second success on the DP World Tour and his first in three years since winning the D+D Real Czech Masters in August 2021.
The 33-year-old became the sixth golfer from the United States to be crowned Nedbank Golf Challenge champion 12 months ago and he's now looking to join seven other players who have won back-to-back titles.
Veerman finished 45th in the Race to Dubai Rankings this season, with his only victory coming in South Africa as the third event on the DP World Tour.
He achieved another five top-20 finishes, with his next best performance coming at the Danish Golf Championship in August (T8).
Veerman described his maiden appearance at the Gary Player Country Club in 2024 as a "fantastic experience" and is looking forward to returning to Sun City.
"My first experience of the Nedbank Golf Challenge was amazing. I had heard so much about the tournament and watched it over the years, so to be able to win it was a dream come true," he said.
"Everything about the week was truly world class. We had incredible functions, and the fireworks display was out of this world. The golfcourse was a strong test and it was just a fantastic experience all around.
"To be able to win a tournament of this stature, and which is played in honour of one of the world's greatest golfers, is something I cherish and I cannot wait to return to Sun City and try to defend my title."
