Marco Penge is one of the headline names in the field for the
Omega European Masters which gets underway on Thursday, August 28.
The Englishman is the highest-ranked player set to tee off at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans-Montana, Switzerland at No. 2 in the Race to Dubai.
Penge has enjoyed a strong season to date, finishing in the top-10 five times out of the 19 tournaments he's competed in and securing the first two wins on the DP World Tour.
The 27-year-old won the Hainan Classic in April and the Danish Gold Championship earlier this month, while he finished tied for second at the Scottish Open recently.
He came in at tied for sixth at the British Masters last week and is looking to put as much pressure on Rory McIlroy ahead of the Race to Dubai playoffs.
"I am just trying to win, that is what I am here to do. I want to get as many points on the Race to Dubai as I can," Penge said.
"Rory is 600-700 ahead of me. I want to make sure that when I go to Abu Dhabi, I have a chance to catch him so that is what I am focusing on."
