A tie worthy of a final sees Paris Saint-Germain host Bayern Munich at Parc des Princes in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, April 28.
The two European juggernauts have met in the competition's decider once before, in 2019-20 when Bayern triumphed 1-0 to win their third title.
The Reds have the upper hand in head-to-head encounters, winning their last five European matches against PSG, including a 2-1 success as recently as 4 November 2025 in the league phase.
Vincent Kompany's side have won 11 of their 12 games in Europe this season, with their solitary defeat coming at the hands of Arsenal (3-1) on November 26.
The newly-crowned Bundesliga champions beat Atalanta 10-2 on aggregate in the round of 16 and Real Madrid 6-4 on aggregate in the quarter-finals to reach the last four for the 14th time in their history.
Les Parisiens had to take the play-off route to qualify for the knockout stages after winning only four of their eight outings in the league phase.
Luis Enrique's side edged Ligue 1 rivals Monaco 5-4 on aggregate to progress to the round of 16, where they smashed Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate.
The defending champions displayed their title credentials by dispatching Liverpool 2-0 both and away to advance to the semis for the third year running.
Enrique admits Bayern have been more consistent this term, but believes he has the best squad that can excel in both defence and attack.
"While both teams attack very well, you have to know how to defend well. That will be key. You have to attack and defend well," the Spaniard said.
"It's an attractive game for everyone and for the teams, who are having a very good season. It's not just the attacking stats, defensively too.
"In terms of consistency, Bayern are slightly ahead of us; they've only lost two matches (all season). But based on what we're showing as a team, there's no one better than us."
