2025-26 Spanish La Liga

Matchday 32

Real Betis v Real Madrid

Estadio Olimpico de la Cartuja

Seville, Spain

Friday, 24 April 2026

Kick-off is at 21h00

There is still much to play for when Real Betis and Real Madrid go head-to-head at La Cartuja on Friday, April 24.

El Glorioso are looking to fend off the chasing pack in their pursuit of a top-five finish, while Los Blancos hope to stay in the title race.

Manuel Pellegrini's side arrested a worrying seven-match winless run when they battled back from an early goal down to beat Girona 3-2 on April  21.

Betis pulled five points clear of Celta Vigo, who travel to La Liga leaders Barcelona on April 22, having lost three of their last five games.

The Andalusian outfit will be targeting an improved performance against Real this time around after suffering a heavy 5-1 defeat in the reverse fixture at the Bernabeu on January 4.

Alvaro Arbeloa's side snapped a run of four matches without a win in all competitions as they edged Alaves 2-1 on April 21.

The Spanish giants exited the UEFA Champions League last week following a 6-4 loss on aggregate to Bayern Munich, while they dropped crucial points in the top flight against Real Mallorca (a 2-1 defeat) and Girona (a 1-1 draw).

Los Blancos trail the Blaugrana by six points and will be hoping that Celta can do them a favour in midweek.

Arbeloa has stressed that their goal is clear: win every one of their remaining six fixtures to put pressure on arch-rivals Barca in the run-in.

"I hope it (May) won't feel too long or too short. We have six games left, with the next one in three days," he said.

"That's the goal we've set: to win these seven games no matter what happens with La Liga. That's the objective we've established as a group - to know that every game counts.

"We are already thinking about many things we need to improve as a group. Being able to fight for every match, regardless of the opponent or what's at stake, is one of the things we need to improve. As a goal, for the six remaining games, we will go out to win them."
