Premier League
Matchday 33
Spurs vs Brighton
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
London, England
Saturday, 18 April 2026
Kick-off is at 18:30
With Spurs facing a real threat of relegation from the Premier League this season, newly appointed coach Roberto De Zerbi will face his old club Brighton in Tottenham’s next Premier League assignment this weekend.
As it stands, De Zerbi faces an upward battle following his return to the Premier League as the London club sit in 18th positsion with 30 points from 32 games played.
Spurs will head into their next fixture on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Sunderland, in a game that took place at the Stadium of Light on Sunday. The result saw Spurs record four defeats and one draw in their last five games, while they sit two points from safety.
Adding to their woes, Tottenham last tasted victory in the league on 28 December 2025, when they secured a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Brighton on the other hand, are in good form over the last couple of months, particularly after noting a 2-0 away win against Burnley this past Saturday.
Sitting on 46 points from 32 games, Brighton will hope for a top-half finish this season, having recorded four wins and one draw in their previous handful of Premier League games.

With De Zerbi suffering defeat in his first game in charge of Spurs, the former Brighton coach believed his side lost due to low confidence, an aspect that has plagued the club throughout the campaign.
“We didn’t deserve to lose,” De Zerbi said.
“We played a good game, but maybe not good enough to win.
“I cannot say anything to the players because they gave their best in terms of attitude and spirit.
“We can play better but my work is not so much on the pitch as mental. They are all good guys and I feel sorry for them. I want to give them the confidence they need.”
