Round 4: Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix of Spain

Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, Jerez de la Frontera

24-26 April

Aprilia Racing’s Marco Bezzecchi will look to continue his dominance of the 2026 Moto GP World Championship when the season resumes with Round 4, the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix of Spain, held from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 April.

Bezzecchi has had his struggles in the Sprint races this season, but has triumphed in all three Grands Prix thus far, taking the chequered flag in Thailand, Brazil and the United States to see himself four points clear of nearest chaser, teammate Jorge Martin, at the top of the Riders’ standings.

At the last round at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Bezzecchi crashed out of the Sprint, but put up a perfect showing in the full-length race to underline his status as the early Championship favourite.

“[In the Sprint] you saw my limit,” explained the Italian. “When you try a bit too much it is very close to the limit. It is a very fine line. It is always super tough because we are always at the limit with the MotoGP bikes. They are super extreme and you always have to push a lot to go fast. I think it is quite easy to define my limit.”

Bezzecchi has now led the most number of consecutive MotoGP laps in a row thanks to his win in COTA, surpassing Jorge Lorenzo’s previous tally of 103. Bezzecchi now holds the record with a total of 121 consecutive laps led.

“It’s tough to explain. I don’t know how to describe my emotions [in regards to the new record],” said Bezzecchi. “Obviously, it’s something you never expect. I work so hard like all the MotoGP riders to achieve these kinds of results but in the end you never expect to achieve something like this.”

The Aprilia Racing rider’s best result at the Spanish GP is third place in 2024, while last year he managed eighth place in the Sprint and 14th place in the Grand Prix.
