Kick-off is at 18:30

Following two consecutive Premier League losses, Arsenal face one of their most challenging title charges in the coming weeks as they prepare to take on Newcastle this Saturday.

Amid the much-publicized rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester City in the last couple of seasons, the Gunners will hope to go all the way this time around after blowing first-place leads in the last two campaigns. However, with City on form, Arsenal heads into their next game on the back of defeats against Bournemouth and City respectively.

As it stands, Arsenal holds a three-point lead over City at the top of the table, while the Citizens have one game in hand.

The London giants have now recorded two defeats and three losses in their last five matches, after accumulating 70 points from 33 matches.

Newcastle on the other hand, failed to live up to their lofty ambitions this season and currently occupies 14th place with 42 points from 33 games played.

The Magpies suffered a 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth on home soil last time out, a result that came after losses against both Sunderland and Crystal Palace respectively.

Overall, Newcastle recorded two wins and three defeats in each of their last five League ties.

Speaking after Arsenal’s loss to City, Mikel Arteta believes their bid to win the Premier League is not over and that his side is convinced of success at the end of the campaign.

“I believe today, I believe on Wednesday, I believed a week ago because I see them every day and I know the level that we have,” Arteta said.

“But today, if they need to be more convinced, I think they are now more convinced. We are talking about it in the dressing-room.

“It’s a new league now. We have three points of advantage, they have the game in hand.

“Everything is still to play for. We know how much we want it and we are not going to stop!”
