The most recent race in the 2021 MotoGP World Championship season was the Italian MotoGP which took place on May 30.

The 2021 Italian MotoGP was won by Quartararo following an entertaining race in Scarperia e San Piero.

The French starlet was followed by Miguel Oliviera of KTM and Mir, who finished second and third respectively.

Quartararo is still placed at the top of the 2021 Riders' standings, while Ducati duo of Johann Zarco and Francesco Bagnaia are placed second and third respectively on the table.

Oliveira, who is now placed 10th on the Riders' standings, described his performance in Italy as a good result and he is looking to carry the momentum to Barcelona.

"Everything went accordingly to the best plan I could have imagined. The beginning of the race I couldn’t stay with the top group because I had the hard front tyre.

"I was a bit more careful. I needed to give it a good warm up before I began to push and then everything worked really well. I managed to overtake Johann [Zarco] and then keep the other Joan [Mir] behind.

"I really enjoyed riding today given the circumstances we all know. It’s a good result to carry this momentum into Barcelona."

Yamaha are placed at the top of Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Ducati and Suzuki respectively.
