La Liga
Matchday 11
Racing Santander vs Real Madrid
Campos de Sport El Sardinero
Santander, Spain
Sunday, 1 November 2026
Kick-off is at 17:15
Following a morale boosting win against Barcelona in El Clasico last weekend, Real Madrid will look to continue their surge at the top end of the La Liga table when they travel to Racing Santander this weekend.
Real Madrid were among the biggest winners in La Liga during matchday 10 as they secured a 2-1 win over age-old rivals Barcelona at the Spotify Nou Camp last Sunday.
The Spanish giants thus moved within three points of Barcelona, who are in pole position in the league. Madrid have now noted 24 points for the campaign while they recorded a three-peat of wins following victories over Villareal and Sevilla respectively.
Santander will head into their next match beaming with confidence after recording a 2-1 win over Espanyol last time out. Prior to their latest win, Racing Santander recorded three losses and one draw in four games as they slipped down the La Liga order.
However, Santander now find themselves in 13th spot with 11 points from 10 matches and will hope to record their fourth win of the season against Madrid.

Speaking on Madrid’s win in El Clasico, Jose Mourinho believes that his players deserve all the credit and that he is more than content with how Los Blancos have been performing this season.
“No, no. It’s for the players. It’s our life, the coach’s life. That’s why, week after week, coaches lose their jobs,” Mourinho said.
“But that’s the way it is. And in this case, I’m incredibly happy that it’s like this. The players deserve it. They deserve it.
“It’s much harder to be on the field and play than on the bench and make decisions. I’m very, very happy for them. For all of them.”
