SuperSport, Pirates look to maintain DStv Prem title charge

2020/21 DStv Premiership

Premier Soccer League

South Africa
5-7 March 2021

DStv Premiership matchday 20 action will start on March 5 with SuperSport United hosting TS Galaxy at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

This will be the second meeting between the two teams with SuperSport having won their first-ever match on 9 January 2021.

SuperSport, who are placed second on the league standings, secured a 3-0 victory over Galaxy in a game that took place at the Mbombela Stadium.

The action will continue on March 7 with third-placed Orlando Pirates facing Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The two teams will meet for the 17th time and Pirates have dominated this rivalry having claimed 12 compared to Chippa's three wins, while one game ended in a stalemate.

Pirates also secured a narrow 1-0 win over Chippa in the last meeting between the two teams on 16 December 2020 at the Orlando Stadium.

Josef Zinnbauer, the Pirates head coach, is set to unleash Thembinkosi Lorch against Chippa after the Bafana Bafana international missed the team's midweek win over Bloemfontein Celtic.

"Lorch is on a good way, he has been working very well in the training sessions," Zinnbauer said.

"We have to see now in the next two days what's happening with him. I hope we get him back on Saturday, I have a good feeling in terms of him."

At the Cape Town Stadium, Cape Town City will lock horns with Stellenbosch FC in the Cape Derby on March 6.

This will be the third meeting between the two teams with City having claimed two wins, while Stellenbosch have recorded one victory.

City emerged 2-1 winners over Stellenbosch in the last league clash between the two teams on 15 December 2020 at the Danie Craven Stadium.

Lastly, Swallows FC are set to lock horns with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) at the Dobsonville Stadium on March 7.

The two teams will meet for the seventh time across all competitions and TTM  have the upper hand having recorded four wins compared to Swallows' two victories.

However, Swallows won the last league match between the two teams on 4 November 2020 as they secured a 2-0 win over TTM at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
