Kick-off is at 20h45
Genoa CFC will square off with AS Roma in an Italian Serie A match at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris on 28 September.
Current Form
The Il Vecchio Balordo (The Old Fool) suffered a 1-0 loss to US Lecce away on 22 September and they are winless in their last three matches in the league.
Genoa are also winless in their last three matches at home having recorded two consecutive defeats and one draw at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.
On the other hand, Roma drew 1-1 with Torino FC away on 24 September and they are unbeaten in their last two matches in Serie A.
However, the Yellow and Reds are winless in their last six matches on the road having registered three defeats and three draws as the visitors
Team News
Genoa duo of Junior Messias and Alessandro Vogliacco are currently injured, but the Old Fool have no suspension concerns.
Meanwhile, Roma also do not have suspension worries and they will be without Tammy Abraham, Marash Kumbulla, Renato Sanches and Chris Smalling who are all injured.
“We conceded a goal from a dead ball situation. It is tough to play against teams who play in this style, with their physicality and intensity,” Roma manager Jose Mourinho said after their draw against Torino.
"We played well, in my view, it is not easy to create chances against them, it is not easy to play one-touch football on a pitch that is so bad that it makes the Stadio Olimpico at Roma look like a catwalk.
"I promise I will no longer insult the Stadio Olimpico turf after this. We had players like [Leandro] Paredes, who up until a couple of weeks ago couldn’t even play 15 minutes, with a completely new defence," he added.
"I really liked the performance. It is tough to do better against this Toro side."
Genoa and Roma drew 0-0 in their last meeting in the league which was on 5 February 2022 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Therefore, Yellow and Reds are undefeated in their last 17 matches in the Serie A against the Old Fool having recorded 14 victories and three draws.
