“It was, without doubt, a difficult match against a very good Milan,” Napoli assistant manager Marco Domenichini said with club manager Stefano Pioli suspended. 
 
“We got the first 20 minutes wrong and struggled to move the ball around, then managed to find more spaces. 
 
"It was again a struggle in the second half when we made mistakes, but the team showed character, the desire to win and we are very happy.”
 
Meanwhile, Torino succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to US Sassuolo at home in their last league match which was played on September 17.
 
Therefore, the Maroons are winless in their last two matches in this competition having recorded two consecutive defeats. 
 
Torino are also winless in their last two matches on the road in Serie A having registered two successive defeats as the visitors.
 
The last meeting between Napoli and Torino in a league match was on 7 May 2022.
 
Napoli claimed a 1-0 win over Torino in a game that was played at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino which was first known as Stadio Municipale Benito Mussolini.
