South Africa v Sri Lanka

3rd T20i Match

Colombo, Sri Lanka
Tuesday, 14 September 2021
South Africa and Sri Lanka will meet in the third Twenty20 International (T20I) match in Colombo on September 14.
The Proteas beat Sri Lanka's Lions by nine wickets on Sunday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series at the same venue on September 12.
Having lost the one-day international (ODI) series 2-1, South Africa won the first T20i match on September 12 by 28 runs in Colombo.
The Proteas then bowled out Sri Lanka for 103 in the second T20i match - the Lions' lowest score when batting first at home.

Left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi took three wickets before Quinton de Kock hit 58 not out as South Africa got their revenge over the Lions.
While Aiden Markram caught the eye with 3-21 and the spinner was responsible for halting any momentum Sri Lanka’s top order showed.
Shamsi, Markram and De Kock will be key for South Africa as they look to end their tour of Sri Lanka with a win in their final match in the Asian country.
The hosts' batsmen Kusal Perera (30) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (20) showed sparks of a good performance in a poor batting card in the T20i second match.
They will have to bring their A-game if Sri Lanka are to secure a consolation victory against the Proteas.

On the other hand, Wanindu Hasaranga took the hosts' only wicket and the Sri Lankan legspinner will need to produce an improved performance in the last game.
"Our batsmen needed to rotate the strike more," Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka said after the second T20i match.
"We have to change our approach, batting in the middle period has been a concern for a long period, consistently for two to three years.
"We will come up with better plans in the next game. It's our approach and mindset that needs to change in the T20s, we should have a strong mindset and we need to have a belief in the team."
