Real chase revenge against PSG

2019/20 UEFA Champions League

Matchday 5

26-27 November 2019

Real Madrid will chase revenge when they host Paris Saint-Germain at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for their penultimate Group A match in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday 26 November 2019, kick-off at 22:00.

PSG forward Angel Di Maria

Real’s last outing in the Champions League saw them rack up an impressive 6-0 home win over Turkish giants Galatasaray, with young prodigy Rodrygo scoring a hat-trick. The result sees Los Blancos placed second in the group on seven points and just one win away from securing qualification.

“This has been the realisation of a dream. Every day I’m advancing a little faster than I’d anticipated. But my attitude is always to work hard, prepare myself and try to ensure that what comes my way doesn’t feel so new or unfamiliar,” said Rodrygo, who will be eager to continue his excellent form.

PSG secured qualification in the last round of games when they registered a fourth successive win, edging Belgium’s Club Brugge 1-0 in Paris thanks to a goal from Mauro Icardi. The French giants have a full haul of 12 points at the top of the log and need only a draw in this clash to guarantee a first-place finish.

"The most important thing is that we qualified and didn't concede a goal,” explained PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe. “Sometimes you have to know how to suffer. We were able to stay solid, with a good attitude. The road is still long, but the most important thing is the win. We still have work to do."

In head-to-head stats, Real and PSG have met in nine previous European matches. Los Blancos have claimed four wins compared to three for the Parisians, while two games have been drawn.

When the teams met in Paris back in September, PSG claimed an emphatic 3-0 home win thanks to goals from Angel Di Maria (two) and Thomas Meunier.
