Lions will take on Bulls in a Super Rugby Unlocked match at the Emirates Airline Park on Saturday.
The Lions secured a 61-31 win over Griquas at home in their previous match which was played on October 30.
The win saw the Lions return to winning ways in the competition having lost 23-17 to the Stormers before they took on the Griquas.
As a result, the Johannesburg-based side is placed fifth on the standings having accumulated seven points from three matches.
The Lions, who are three time-time Super Rugby runners-up, have recorded one win and two defeats thus far in the current campaign.
Ivan van Rooyen, the Lions coach, says his side's forward pack will have to play a central role in the clash of the two South African giants.
“We know the Bulls have a really good pack,” Van Rooyen said on the Citizen.
“But, we first have to look at what we can take out of this game [against Griquas] and how we can then fix the weaker elements against the Bulls.
Meanwhile, Bulls emerged 39-6 winners over Stormers at home in their most recent match which was played on October 31.
This was the Bulls' second successive win in the competition having defeated the Sharks 41-14, before taking on the Stormers.
The Pretoria-based side is placed at the top of the standings having accumulated 15 points from four matches.
The Bulls, who are the 2013 Super Rugby runners-up, have registered three victories and one defeat so far in the current season.
The last time the Lions and Bulls clashed in a competitive match was on 10 August 2019.
The Bulls defeated the Lions 31-26 in a Currie Cup match which was played at the Emirates Airline Park.
