Diogo Dalot believes Rasmus Hojlund could have a big part to play for Manchester United as they look to deny neighbours Manchester City the domestic double at Wembley on Saturday, May 25.

Hojlund was left out of Erik ten Hag's starting line-up for their last two games of the Premier League season, but stepped off the bench to score in the victories over Newcastle and Brighton.

The Denmark international made a slow start to his career at Old Trafford after going 14 games without a goal before breaking his duck against Aston Villa and hitting a purple patch.

Hojlund has netted just once in four FA Cup outings this term, but is the club's leading scorer with 16 goals in all competitions. He equalled Marcus Rashford's record of 10 league goals in a season as a 20-year-old.

Dalot, who opened the scoring against the Seagulls on the final day of the season, hailed the youngster's mentality and hopes he can make a similar impact against the Citizens in the FA Cup final.

"I told him straight away after the goal [he scored] this is the type of mentality we want," the Portuguese defender told MUTV.

"Whether you go on the bench, whether you start the game, you need to be ready, fresh and as soon as you come on, if it's five minutes, one minute, 15-20 you need to give everything.

"He's been showing especially these last two games when he's come on he gives energy to the team, he's fresh, he's strong, winning duels and this is the Rasmus we want to see the whole season and I'm really happy with him."
