Rory McIlroy will be eager to continue his dominance at the
Wells Fargo Championship where he has enjoyed a lot of success.
The Northern Irish superstar is the most decorated golfer in the history of this tournament having won the event a record three times including last year's trophy.
McIlroy is currently placed seventh on the Official World Golf Rankings and he will climb up the rankings if he successfully retains his title this weekend.

The two-time PGA Championship winner won the first of his 20 PGA Tour titles in 2010 at the Wells Fargo Championship after shooting 62 in the final round with Phil Mickelson finishing second.
McIlroy won again in 2015 having shot a course-record 61 at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina as he clinched the trophy by seven strokes with a tournament-record score.
The accomplished golfer then won the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club by one stroke with Francesco Molinari finishing second.
McIlroy won his first at the 2010 US Open at Congressional Country Club just over a month after winning the Wells Fargo Championship in May.
The four-time major champion finished second at the 2022 Masters Tournament having shot a bogey-free 64 in the final round, and saw him escape two bunkers on the 72nd hole and hole out for a birdie.
Gary Sobba, Wells Fargo Championship tournament director, has welcomed McIlroy to the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm.
“It is always good to have Rory in the field, as he adds another element to the competition whenever he plays,” Sobba said
“To have him defending his title will be a special experience for the fans and all involved in this year’s tournament.”
