The Seagulls have secured top-flight football for another season but will be eager not to finish closest to the relegation places. Brighton have won just once in their last seven matches following a 1-1 draw at home to West Ham United this past weekend.

City will make the trip to Amex Stadium having already been crowned Premier League champions for the third time in four seasons.

The Cityzens notched up a record 12th away league win in a row on Friday evening. Ferran Torres scored an impressive hat-trick in a 4-3 win at Newcastle United to extend City's unassailable lead at the top to 13 points.

"It's good for the fact that we won 12 times and no side could do it before so we're happy for that," Guardiola told Sky Sports in the aftermath. "The spirit from the first minute until the end was absolutely there.

"We made mistakes because we are champions and the players were distracted a little bit the last few days but this is normal and we knew it.

"Now they're going to celebrate and we're going to prepare for the game against Brighton and I'm pretty sure we will be more focused and better prepared of course for the final of the Champions League," he added.

A solitary first-half strike by Phil Foden led City to a narrow 1-0 win over Brighton in the reverse fixture at Etihad Stadium earlier this season.
