The New Orleans Pelicans will be seeking their sixth win in seven NBA games against the Los Angeles Clippers when they go head to head at the Smoothie King Center on the morning of Saturday, March 16.

The Pelicans pulled off a clean sweep against the Clippers last season and won their first match-up of the 2023-24 campaign before seeing that 4-0 run ended with a 111-95 defeat on January 5.

Willie Green's team got their revenge on February 7 with a 117-106 victory to go 2-1 up for the season, although they are 2.5 games behind Los Angeles in the Western Conference.

New Orleans made it four wins on the spin when they beat Atlanta Hawks 116-103 on March 11 to hold onto fifth place ahead of Phoenix Suns.

Trey Murphy III made a huge impact off the bench, scoring a game-high 28 points against the Hawks, while Zion Williamson added 27 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

Green hailed another fine performance from Murphy, saying: "When he keeps it simple, like he's been doing, the simple can be spectacular. Trey's shooting has been off the charts the last five to seven games."

The Clippers have the fourth-best record in the West (41-22) and are just one of seven teams to have won 40 games or more in the NBA this term.

Tyronn Lue's team were without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the 124-117 loss to Milwaukee Bucks on March 10, having decided to rest both players after they featured against Chicago Bulls just 22 hours earlier.

Norman Powell led the scoring for LA with 26 points off the bench against the Bucks and Lue was left to bemoan the fixture scheduling over the weekend which deprived him of his two top points scorers.

The Pacific Division franchise share the Crypto.com Arena with the Los Angeles Lakers, who hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves later on March 10.

"Very extreme," Lue said of the Clippers' schedule. "That's why we're just so excited to get to the Intuit Dome next year, get our own place."
