Scottie Scheffler will be looking to maintain his spot at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings by winning the 2022
RBC Canadian Open.
The American star's hot run of golf through the early part of 2022 has earned him the number one spot in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Scheffler is set to make his debut appearance in the Canadian Open and he is among the favourites to win this year's tournament.

The talented golfer won the 2022 World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play with a 4 & 3 win over Kevin Kisner in the finale three months ago.
Therefore, Scheffler became the 25th man to reach world number one since the Official World Golf Ranking debuted in 1986.
Scheffler then won the 2022 Masters Tournament, defeating Rory McIlroy by three strokes two months ago and it was his fourth win in his last 6 starts.
At the next major, the 2022 PGA Championship which took place in April, the 2020 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year missed the cut.

His last professional tournament was the 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge where he lost to Sam Burns who made a 38-foot birdie putt in a playoff round on May 29.
The 2022 WM Phoenix Open and 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational winner is looking forward to making his debut appearance at the Canadian Open.
“Competing for a national championship is always a great honour and I’m thrilled to be coming to Toronto in June to play in the RBC Canadian Open for the first time," Scheffler said.
Leo Diegel is the most decorated golfer in the history of the Canadian Open having won it a record four times in 1924, 1925, 1928 and 1929.
