Liverpool will be looking to claim the
Community Shield for the first time since 2006 when they face Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, July 30.
The FA Cup and EFL Cup holders saw their domestic treble hopes dashed on the final day of last season as City pipped them to the Premier League title by a single point.
Jurgen Klopp's side experienced more heartache the following week when they lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final.

The Reds also contested the Community Shield in 2019 and 2020, but were beaten on penalties by the Citizens and Arsenal respectively on each occasion.
Only Manchester United (21) and the Gunners (16) have won the trophy more times than the Merseyside giants, who are bidding for their 16th victory in the curtain-raiser to the new campaign.
Despite coming so close to a quadruple last term, Klopp still sees room for improvement as they look to dethrone City this coming season.
Commenting on their achievements of 2021/22, the German told Premier League Productions: "It was top... with obviously space for improvement.
"Last year we couldn't have done a lot better. Results could have been slightly better but performances not much, so happy with a lot but saw a lot what we can improve and that is what we are working on in the moment.
"Not only because we want to improve, but we have to improve because other teams don't sleep. Yeah, we have to be ready for massive fights every weekend and that's what we try."
