The Farmers Insurance Open, which is the third event in the 2026 PGA Tour season, will be played in San Diego, California, USA between 29 January and 1 February.
What to know about the tournament
Founded in 1952, the tournament has been held at Torrey Pines Golf Course, a 36-hole municipal facility in La Jolla, since 1968 and it is held in the early part of the season known as the "West Coast Swing".
The PGA Tour event is organized by the Century Club of San Diego. In the current format, players split the first 36 holes between the North and South Course, then play the final 36 holes on the South Course.
Favourites
The 2026 Farmers Insurance Open field is headlined by the defending champion, Harris English and some big names such as Brooks Koepka, Ludvig Aberg and Xander Schauffele.
Former Farmers Insurance Open winners Matthieu Pavon (2024) Max Homa (2023) Luke List (2022) Brandt Snedeker (2012, 2016) Jason Day (2015, 2018) and Justin Rose (2019) will also be part of the 144-player field.
Chris Gotterup, who won this season's Sony Open in Hawaii, will also tee off at the iconic Torrey Pines Golf Course.
What Is At Stake
The Farmers Insurance Open will see golfers compete for a share of the purse, with the 2026 champion receiving a cheque of $1,728,000 (from a total purse of $9.6 million).
The winner of Farmers Insurance Open is also set to receive 500 FedEx Cup points, as will be the case for standard events, while also earning 60 Official World Golf Ranking points, with the points available based on field strength.
