Harris English will be determined to win the
Sentry Tournament of Champions for the second time when he tees off at the Plantation Course.
What to know about English
The American star has won eight professional tournaments since he turned pro in 2011 when he featured in the Nationwide Tour.
English's best performance in a major golf tournament came in 2021 as he finished third at the US Open behind Louis Oosthuizen and champion Jon Rahm.
Latest news
The last time English was in action in a competitive golf event was in November as he finished 28th in the 2023 RSM Classic.
The Valdosta, Georgia-born golfer is currently placed 40th on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), and his best overall ranking is 10th place.
Why English is among the favourites
English is familiar with the Plantation Course as it is the same place where he won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2021.
The 34-year-old birdied five of the last eight holes to get into a playoff where he outsmarted Joaquin Niemann and he will be keen to replicate the same form this weekend.
What did he say
“I knew I was playing really well,” English said after winning the 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions.
“I knew Joaqo [Niemann] and Justin [Thomas] were making a run and I needed to do something and I love being in those situations.
"Even when I was a kid, I loved having the ball when the clock’s running out in basketball. I kind of crave getting back into that. I hadn’t had it in a long time.”
