South African cricket legend, Graeme Smith, has joined as our Global Cricket Ambassador.
Graeme was South Africa’s youngest ever captain at 22 years old, who went on to be the most successful Test captain with 53 wins, having scored over 17,200 runs in international cricket.
Graeme retired from playing in 2014 and is still heavily involved in the sport. He previously held the role of Director of Cricket for Cricket South Africa from December 2019 to March 2022, and led the creation of cricket’s most exciting new tournament – the Betway SA20 – where he is now the League Commissioner.
Having Graeme on board as our latest Global Ambassador sees him join our enviable sponsorship and ambassador portfolio which spans a number of sports around the world, including Premier League Football, Bundesliga, La Liga, tennis in eight countries, cricket, and our growing list of deals with the NBA and NHL in the US.
Here’s what our CEO, Anthony Werkman, had to say about our new ambassador, as well as Graeme commenting on his new role.
