Villarreal CF will square off with Real Madrid in a Spanish La Liga match at the Estadio de la Cerámica on January 7.
This will be the 45th meeting between the two teams in La Liga since 1998 when Villarreal made their debut in the Spanish top flight.
Madrid have dominated this rivalry, having recorded 24 wins compared to Villarreal's four victories, while 16 games ended in a draw.
The last meeting between the two teams in the league was on 12 February 2022 at the Estadio de la Cerámica where they drew 0-0.
Meanwhile, Villarreal succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Real Mallorca in their last home match in this competition on November 16.
The defeat ended the Yellow Submarines' four-match unbeaten run at home, having registered three wins and one draw before facing Mallorca.
While Madrid suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat to Rayo Vallecano in their last away match in La Liga on November 7.

The loss ended the Whites' seven-match unbeaten run on the road, having recorded six victories and one draw as the visitors.
“We’re in good shape and looking forward to returning to action. The team’s doing well and has trained well," Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotte said about La Liga resumption.
"We’ve got [Karim] Benzema back, and this is very important for us. Those who returned today have been training individually and they’re available.
"I’m going to give priority to those who have been training here. Mariano won’t be available because he sprained his ankle in the last friendly.”
