The Dallas Mavericks will face the Boston Celtics in the National Basketball Association (NBA) match at the American Airlines Center on January 6.
This will be the 84th meeting between the two teams in the regular season since the 1980/81 campaign which was the Mavericks' debut NBA term.
The Celtics have the edge in this rivalry, having registered 43 wins compared to the Mavericks' 40 victories.

The last meeting between the two former NBA champions was on 24 November 2022 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had their way with the Mavericks, as they scored 37 and 31 points respectively to help the Celtics to win 125-112.
The Mavericks find themselves on the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings, having recorded 18 wins and 16 defeats from 34 matches.
While the Celtics are placed at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, having registered 24 victories and 10 defeats from 34 games.
Luka Doncic posted the first-ever 60/20/10 game in NBA history as he helped the Mavericks secure a 126-121 overtime win over the New York Knicks on Wednesday morning, December 28.
"Everybody's still in shock. He's special. The history of the game is written by the players and it was written again tonight," Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said about Doncic's display.
"For a player, Luka, doing something that's never been done before. It's hard to do. There were great players before him. I think he was next to [Elgin] Baylor and Wilt [Chamberlain], he was in that class.
"And then he separated himself. He made his own class which is pretty cool."
