World No. 18 Billy Horschel will be amongst the highest-ranked golfers set to compete at the 2023 Sony Open in Hawaii.

The American is one of 14 players in the top 50 vying for victory at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, where he'll be making his sixth appearance.

Horschel's best performance came in 2021 when he finished tied for seventh and he aims for a better showing on 'The Big Island' after struggling with his new swing at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui last week.

The 36-year-old had worked on his swing with long-time instructor Todd Anderson in the off-season but the tweak didn't have the desired impact as he shot 76 in the first round and 71 in the second round before eventually finishing T30.

Horschel is planning to return to the drawing board as he looks to start making preparations for the Waste Management in Phoenix next month.

"I can piece things together and make it work and I can still compete," he said. "And I could probably still win doing it that way.

"But I feel like for the rest of the year and trying to prepare for the bigger events, I feel it's more beneficial for me to go home."
