Their last defeat came in June 2019 when they succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Turkey in a UEFA European Championship qualifier.

Didier Deschamps, the France head coach, explained why he included Kylian Mbappe in his latest squad despite the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) forward currently carrying an injury.

"Today there is no certainty that he cannot be available. If I put him in the list today, it is because it is very likely he will be available to face Portugal on Saturday," Deschamps said.

"If all goes well, he should be there. I understand the position of club coaches. There is no conflict to be had with anyone. Interests may diverge between those who are tired or have injury doubts."

Meanwhile, Finland secured a 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in their previous match which was a UEFA Nations League game on 14 October 2020.

As a result the Eagle Owls are undefeated in their last two matches across all competitions having recorded two successive wins.
