2025/26 Premier League
Matchday 25
Arsenal FC v Sunderland AFC
Emirates Stadium
London, England
Saturday, 7 February 2026
Kick-off is at 17h00
Arsenal FC will play host to the surprise package of the season, Sunderland AFC, in the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on 7 February.
Current Form
The Gunners emerged as 4-0 winners at Leeds United on 31 January, as the log leaders snapped a two-match winless run in the English top-flight.
However, Arsenal are winless in their last two home matches in the Premier League, having recorded one draw and one defeat at the Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, Sunderland thrashed a hapless Burnley FC side 3-0 at home on 2 February as they registered their second win in their last three games in the league.
However, the Black Cats are winless in their last seven away matches in the Premier League, having registered three defeats and four draws.
Team News
Bukayo Saka is the latest player to be added to Arsenal's injury list, joining Mikel Merino and Max Dowman, but the winger is yet to be ruled out of the game against Sunderland.
Sunderland, on the other hand, have three players on the injury list, namely Granit Xhaka and Bertrand Traore who are both regulars.
Quotes
“It was important to react because we were really disappointed after West Ham," Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris said after his side's win over Burnley.
“We didn’t have any energy and we weren’t Sunderland, so today it was important to react and show, at least through our way of playing, our intensity and our bravery.
“We needed to show our ability to press high and create chances. “That response is really important to winning games, and today I am really pleased.”
Head-to-Head
Arsenal and Sunderland drew 2-2 in their last meeting in the league, which was in November 2025 at the Stadium of Light.
As a result, the Gunners are undefeated in their last 13 Premier League games against the Black Cats, having registered five draws and eight victories.
