Werder Bremen will face Bayern Munich in a
German Bundesliga match at the Weser Stadion on June 16.
The River Islanders secured an emphatic 5-1 win over Paderborn away in their previous league match which was played on June 13.
They returned to winning ways in the league as they had registered two successive defeats before facing Paderborn.
However, they are winless in their last 13 home matches in the Bundesliga having recorded three draws and 10 defeats.
Meanwhile, Bayern are coming off a 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach at home in their previous league match which was played on June 13.
It was the Bavarians' 10th consecutive league victory and they are also undefeated in their last 17 matches in the competition.
Furthermore, Bayern are undefeated in their last eight away matches in the Bundesliga having registered eight victories in a row.
Hansi Flick, the Bayern manager, says they are targeting nothing but a victory over Bremen as they look to defend their Bundesliga title.
"It was hard work. We knew that because we made some changes. That was important after the DFB Cup match this week. Gladbach had one week to recover," Flick said.
"All teams are tired at this point. I'm happy we maintained our lead and won the match. We want to close it out and extend our run away to Bremen."
The last time Bremen took on Bayern in a league match was on 14 December 2019. Bavarians emerged 6-1 winners over the River Islanders in an encounter which was played at the Allianz Arena.
