Valencia CF will face off with Getafe CF in a
Spanish La Liga match at the Estadio de Mestalla on August 13.
The Bats wrapped up their 2020/21 league season with a 0-0 draw with Huesca away in a game that was played on May 22.
The draw extended Valencia's unbeaten run to two matches in this competition having recorded one draw and one win.
Valencia are also undefeated in their last two matches at home in La Liga having registered two successive victories.
Ruben Sobrino, the Valencia forward, says they are targeting nothing but a win against Getafe as they eye a winning start to the new campaign.
"The next game is the most important thing. You always have to look at the short term," Sobrino said.
"If we start the first matchday well, then the players will have that extra boost. Starting off with three points at home will strengthen us and help us to continue with enthusiasm.
"We hope to get the three points and keep pushing forward this season."
Meanwhile, Getafe ended the previous season with a 0-0 draw with Granada away in their previous league encounter which was played on May 22.
As a result, the Deep Blue Ones are unbeaten in their last two matches in this competition having recorded one win and one draw.
However, Getafe are winless in their last three away matches in La Liga having registered two consecutive defeats and one draw.
The last meeting between Valencia and Getafe in a league match was on 27 February 2021.
Getafe claimed an impressive 3-0 win over Valencia in a match that was played at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
