Atletico Madrid will look for a return to top form in La Liga when they host Valencia at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday 19 October 2019, kick-off at 16:00. The match is one of 10 across Spain’s top flight in the ninth round of the 2019/20 season.



Atletico have won just one of their last five La Liga matches and played to a second successive 0-0 draw when they were held away to Real Valladolid just before the international break. The string of results has seen the Rojiblancos drop to third place on the log.

Valencia saw an upturn in their form heading into the international break, as a 2-1 home win over Deportivo Alaves extended their unbeaten run to four matches. Los Che have risen to eighth place on the log and are just two points off the top four bracket.

Last season Atletico claimed four points from their matches against Valencia, drawing 1-1 at Estadio de Mestalla in August 2018 before a 3-2 win in the return game in Madrid in April 2019.
