2022/23 Italian Serie A

Matchday 31

Juventus FC v SSC Napoli

Allianz Stadium
Turin, Italy
Sunday, 23 April 2023
Kick-off is at 20h45

Juventus FC will go head to head with SSC Napoli in an Italian Serie A match at the Allianz Stadium on April 23.

Current Form

The Old Lady suffered a 1-0 loss to US Sassuolo away on April 16 and they are winless in their last two league games.

However, Juventus are undefeated in their last four matches at home having recorded four consecutive wins at the Allianz Stadium.

While Napoli were held to a 0-0 draw by Hellas Verona at home on April 15 as they extended their unbeaten run to two matches in Serie A.

The Little Donkeys are also undefeated in their last seven matches on the road having recorded seven successive wins as the away side.

What Is At Stake

Juventus are top six contenders at the moment and they are currently placed seventh on the league standings - four points behind sixth-placed Atalanta BC.

Massimiliano Allegri's side will be determined to reduce the gap between them by defeating Napoli who are keen to bounce back to winning ways.

Napoli are placed at the top of the league standings and a win over Juventus would see the Little Donkeys move closer to clinching the Serie A title.

Team News

Juventus players Kaio Jorge, Mattia De Sciglio and Moise Kean are currently injured and the club has no suspension worries.

On the other hand, Napoli also do not have any injury worries, but Giovanni Simeone and Gianluca Gaetano are both injured.

Key Players

Dusan Vlahovic, who is Juventus' top scorer with eight goals in the Serie A this season having also provided two assists, could be the man to propel the Old Lady to a victory against Napoli.

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen is Napoli's dangerman having scored more goals (21) than any other Serie A player this season and the Nigerian striker will be keen to slay Juventus.

Quotes

“We should have played a different game. The first half especially wasn't good. In the early stages we were too static and didn't attack the spaces enough," Allegri said after their clash with Sassuolo.

"We could have drawn level after falling behind, but the defeat was deserved. In the second half, the changes led to a reaction, even if they weren't enough.

"We would have liked and should have made a leap forward on the table, getting closer to the two Milan teams, but that didn't happen," he added.

"We have to keep working to improve because this was a good opportunity to further cut the gap in the standings. We have to improve our approach to the match and avoid losing concentration in the decisive moments of the match.”

Head-to-Head

Napoli hammered Juventus 5-1 in their last meeting in the league which was on 13 January 2023 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

As a result, the Little Donkeys are undefeated in their last three league matches against the Old Lady having recorded two wins and one draw.
