Jon Rahm will be hoping to become the first golfer to successfully retain the
Mexico Open title since 1962 when Tony Lema clinched his second trophy.
What to know about Rahm
The Spanish superstar is arguably the best golfer in the world at the moment and he is currently placed at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
Rahm has won an impressive 20 professional tournaments including 11 PGA Tour events and two golf majors namely, Masters Tournament, and US Open.

The man nicknamed Rahmbo took a short break from professional golf after finishing 15th at the 2023 RBC Heritage in South Carolina earlier this month.
Rahmbo should be well-rested and ready to add the four PGA Tour wins he has registered in 2023 including the American Express and Genesis Invitational.
Why Rahm is among the favourites
Rahm is returning to win the Vidanta Vallarta where he won last year's Mexico Open and he is a clear favourite to clinch the trophy.
Another victory at the Vidanta Vallarta would see the 28-year-old increase his OWGR points and also consolidate his spot at the top.

"I can't believe I'm the first," Rahm said after being told that he is the first European to win both the Masters Tournament and US Open.
"It is a pretty good duo of majors. I was starting to think I was never going to win a major again unless it was at Torrey Pines.
"If there's anything better than making history … it's hard to explain. Out of all the accomplishments of the many great players before me, it's hard to believe I'm the first one," he added.
"It's a very humbling feeling. I can't help but feel thankful."
