The Magpies eased their relegation fears with a 2-1 win at Burnley last time out. Newcastle have accumulated seven points from their last six league matches to open a six-point gap between themselves and Fulham in 18th spot.

At the other end of the league standings, West Ham continue to defy the odds. The Hammers moved within a point of third following a 3-2 win over Leicester City. The London club have scored nine goals in their last three matches.

"I’m not smiling. This one is a stick-on smile today. This is a smile of anger because we nearly threw away another big three points for us and we don’t want to do that," said West Ham manager David Moyes, whose team held a 3-0 lead at London Stadium before two late goals from the Foxes.

"We were 3-0 up against Arsenal and 3-0 up against Wolves and 3-0 up against Leicester and they’re incredible results, but they don’t sound that incredible when it goes 3-3, 3-2, 3-2.
"I’ve got to try and put an end to that. I can’t allow that to happen and we’ve got to be better."

Goals from Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick led Newcastle to a 2-0 win over West Ham at London Stadium in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
