AFCON 2019: South Africa eye second title

South Africa are set to participate in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals which will be host by Egypt.

South Africa head coach Stuart Baxter

Bafana Bafana, who are under the guidance of English coach Stuart Baxter, will be making their 10th appearance in the competition.
 
They have been pitted against Morocco, Ivory Coast and Namibia in Group D. 

South Africa will open their group stage campaign against Ivory Coast at the Al Salam Stadium on June 24. Kick-off is at 16h30.
 
Baxter's men will then take on their Southern African neighbours Namibia at the same venue on June 28. Kick-off is at 22h00.
 
Before wrapping up their group stage campaign against Morocco in another match which also be played at the Al Salam Stadium on July 1. Kick-off is at 18h00.

The top two teams from the group will advance to the knockout stages of the 24-team tournament.
 
While the best four third-placed teams will also progress to the knockout phase.
 
South Africa are hoping to go all the way and clinch their second AFCON title having won the trophy in 1996 as tournament hosts.
