Algeria are enjoying a 13-match unbeaten run in AFCON qualifiers and they are also undefeated in their last 19 home matches in the qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Tanzania, who will qualify for the 2023 AFCON finals with a win over Algeria, emerged as 1-0 winners over Niger at home on June 18 in their last Group F match.

The win saw the Taifa Stars return to winning ways in the AFCON finals and they are undefeated in their last two away matches in the qualifiers.

Key Players

Riyad Mahrez - who is Algeria's influential captain and winger - has netted 30 goals from 83 international matches and he will be keen to inspire his troops to a win.

Tanzania will look to their inspirational captain Ally Samatta with the lethal striker having netted 22 goals in 63 international matches.

What was said?

"There are changes I will make in the squad before the game against Algeria," Tanzania head coach Adel Amrouche said.

"Let me be clear there are players who have not come, I will be happy with what the players who are available have shown.

"We need more fighting players, so in this group, there are players who will not be included in the game against Algeria."

Head-To-Head

The two teams have met 12 times across all competitions since their first-ever meeting in January 1973.

Algeria won seven games compared to Tanzania's one victory and four games ended in a draw.
