Senegal will go head to head with Equatorial Guinea in the 2021
Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final match on January 30.
The Lions of Teranga reached this stage after claiming a 2-0 victory over Cape Verde in a Last 16 game which was played on January 25.
Therefore, Senegal are undefeated in their last four matches in this competition having recorded two wins and two draws.
The Lions of Teranga defeated Zimbabwe in their first game in Cameroon, before recording draws against Guinea and Malawi in Group B.
“We are delighted as a team to have qualified for the quarterfinals," Senegal forward Bamba Dieng said after being named Man of the Match following their game against Cape Verde.
"And on a personal note I am happy to have earned the man of the match away in what was a good and well-coordinated game with my teammates.
"We will continue to improve with every game as we hope to go all the way in the competition.”
Meanwhile, Equatorial Guinea booked their place in the quarter-finals after defeating Mali 6-5 following a 0-0 draw in a Round of 16 match that took place on January 26.
The National Thunder are now undefeated in their last three matches in this competition having registered three consecutive victories.
Equatorial Guinea started their campaign with a defeat to Ivory Coast, but they secured wins over Algeria and Sierra Leone in their last two games in Group E.
The last meeting between Senegal and Equatorial Guinea was on 17 November 2018.
Senegal overcame Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in the 2019 AFCON qualifier which was played at the Estadio de Bata in Bata.
