2021/22 English Premier League

Matchday 32

Manchester City v Liverpool

Etihad Stadium
Manchester, England
Sunday, 10 April 2022
Kick-off is at 17h30

The Premier League title race could effectively be decided when Manchester City welcome Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, April 10.

The Citizens lead the Reds by just one point in the standings with eight games remaining in the season.

Pep Guardiola's side have shown signs of slipping up after losing 3-2 to Tottenham and being held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace in recent weeks.

However, City got their title defence back on track with a 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Burnley at Turf Moor last weekend.

Guardiola insists his players need to learn to cope with the pressure of winning every single match in the run-in or risk losing out to the Merseysiders once more.

"We have to feel the pressure that every game we play we can't lose. If we lose we can't win," the Spaniard said. "Feel the pressure, live it and handle it or else we won't be champions."

Jurgen Klopp's charges have been in stellar form and the 2-0 success against Watford on the weekend extended their winning streak to 10 games and briefly saw them move to the league summit.

They have also conceded just two goals during that run while scoring 25 in the process to close right up on the league leaders' heels.

Klopp celebrated the triumph over the Hornets enthusiastically, but downplayed his reasons for doing so and added that is was important to stay on the winning trail to keep their title hopes alive.

"You can't give an inch. But it's nothing to do with being on top of the table, I didn't think about that in the moment, I was just happy to win the game and having now 72 points," the German said.

"Hopefully. To keep it a title race we have to win our football games, otherwise it will be really tricky. And the next Premier League game obviously is a big one, we do not hide from that."
