The ground-breaking initiative was introduced in 2019 for former professional footballers, with the programme a resounding success. Betway are embarking on the 2nd edition this year specifically targeted at former sports professionals from multiple sporting codes. This is a unique concept created by Betway with the aim to equip and empower them with the necessary knowledge and skills to transition into a role in the world of sport or business. Appropriately titled in sports as the 12th Man, the Betway-sponsored initiative will see 12 ex-sportsmen (male & female) embarking on a life-changing four-month journey which will see them graduate with a variety of skills and qualifications to increase their chances of being integrated into the world of business or sport. During this period, Betway will invite various industry experts from the fields of Digital Marketing, Hospitality, Harvard Business School, Sponsorship, Culture Creation, Finance, Project Management and Strategy to endow the former professional players with practical skills for them to plough back in their communities.
